Garden is still doing well! We have two eggplants now! I have gotten a TON of yummy green beans and cucumbers...And some peppers, which are taking FOREVER to grow!!! Also some very pretty squash flowers have emerged on the butternut squash plants!

I still have yet to get a nice big juicy red tomato! They have all be on the small side...and they are cracking, which I read is because of uneven fertilization and watering. We have cut down on the watering...And it seems to have made a difference.

We found some grubs when we were weeding. And there are Japanese Beetles eating the leaves...

It was DELICIOUS!!!!

Today's post is dedicated to my mom. My mom had a green thumb like no one I have ever known. 18 years ago today, she lost her life to breast cancer.

I think she would have been proud of the efforts that have yielded a pretty good garden this year!

18 years ago today, I lost you.
It’s been 18 years since I heard your voice, saw your smile, held your hand.
I have chosen to use those 18 years to smile when I think of you, and to be grateful for the time I had with you.
Since you’ve been gone, I have married a wonderful man, created a very special little boy, attained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and found a career that I truly enjoy. And I know that you have watched over me and cheered me on through each and every step.
Mom – You are never far away because I carry a piece of you in my heart. I love you.
Always,
Melissa
